Max (Jamie Foxx) dreams of leaving his life behind for a tropical island somewhere. For now, he's a cab driver – and he thinks he's got an easy job on his hands when a man offers him $600 to drive him around Los Angeles all night.

What he doesn't know is that his new passenger, Vincent (Tom Cruise), is a deadly contract killer with a full roster of hits ahead of him. With danger in the passenger seat, will they both survive the night?
