We first partnered with Refuge in 2019, a longstanding UK charity that supports women and children against domestic violence. Since 2019 we have raised 114,956.00 for Refuge.

We have set ourselves the goal to raise £50k by May 2023. Since then, our teams have been working hard and we have raised almost £40k through fundraisers alone!

We're excited to be supporting Refuge through this ongoing partnership which will change the lives of many for years to come. Joining with us marks their biggest partnership yet, and we will raise the profile of their essential work across our growing family of nationwide cinemas.

The 50 for 50 Challenge

In January we challenged our staff to walk or run 50km for Refuge's 50th Anniversary. We called it: 50 for 50. With this challenge, they would each need to raise at least £50.00 each.

With the challenge set, our staff certainly did not let us down. They donned a beautiful and bright Refuge T-shirt, and over a series of weeks and days ran or walked 50km, working either independently or in teams.

In total, we raised a fantastic £4,254! A big thank you to all the staff and everyone that contributed to their Just Giving Pages helping us raise this fantastic amount. It's not too late to donate!

Other Ways We Raise Money

Did you know that for every hot drink you buy in our cinemas, that 10p goes to Refuge?

Our cinemas and head office staff all work hard to find fun and thoughtful ways to raise money. This includes our cinema teams hosting film quizzes, bake sales and so much more!

Then there is you, our Picturehouse Members and customers who give generously, donating into the donation pots nearby service areas such as our kiosks and bars, or texting to donate after seeing one of our Text-To-Donate trailers before the film. And, just in case you don't recall what this looks like, let us remind you.

The Future

We are well on our way to reaching our target, and beyond. However, the fun doesn't stop there! Our target is £50,000 and we have until May 2023 to do so, so far we have raised a whopping £39,838.54, and that is since September 2021. Imagine what we can achieve by May of next year!

We could not have achieved this without your help, so thank you for buying that coffee, texting from the text to donate trailer before your movie, joining in on our film quizzes, and buying a cake from our bake sales!
