Dog-Friendly Cinema is back at Clapham Picturehouse, with monthly screenings on Sundays!
BOOK HEREIn 1910 the Electric Picture Palace opened on the site of former stables in Venn Street, Clapham. This was followed in 1919 with plans for a much grander venue, The Coliseum, with an entrance directly onto Clapham High Street. Unfortunately the company ran into financial difficulties and the cinema never opened. However, the façade of the 1919 rebuild survived and can still be seen on the corner of Clapham High Street and Venn Street. The site was turned into a snooker hall and remained so until 1992, when the three-screen Clapham Picturehouse opened – the first new-build venue in the group.
The opening coincided with a resurgence of cinema, and the Picturehouse quickly became a cultural and social landmark in the area. In 2003 a fourth screen was added and the bar was extended. Today Venn Street and the Picturehouse are at the heart of a bright, bustling and vibrant Clapham community.

We add a 70p booking fee per ticket (excluding tickets for Picturehouse Members) to bookings made online or over the phone. This fee doesn't apply to tickets you buy in person at the cinema.
3D films may cost £1.30 extra per person, not including 3D glasses (you can buy these at the cinema for an extra £1, free for Members, or bring your own).
*Family tickets are for four people, at least two of whom must be under 15. Not applicable to premium-priced screenings.

Relaxed screenings are specially designed to make cinema-going easier and more accessible to those who may need additional support when they visit. These screenings are ideal for neurodivergent audiences of all ages, those living with dementia, and their families, friends, and carers, but all are welcome.
Relaxed screenings will show films without adverts or trailers. Lights are left on low, the volume is reduced, and the audience is free to move around and take breaks from the screen whenever needed.
We typically show:
A family-friendly film every third Sunday of the month
Whilst we do our best to ensure these screenings happen consistently, please note that on occasion the regular slot may change. Make sure to check local listings ahead of your screening.
We are happy for you to bring your dog along to these special dog-friendly screenings (you're welcome without a dog too).
We will provide fleece blankets and bowls of water, with slightly raised lighting and lower volume to make our fluffy customers more comfortable.
We limit dogs to: one dog to one adult.

The Watch with Baby club is for parents and guardians with babies under one year old.
Watch with Baby takes place on Thursdays & Sunday mornings. Babies go free.
Adults are only admitted if accompanying a baby.
The Kids' Club is every Saturday at 11.45am.
Adults are only admitted if accompanying a child.
Join us Saturday morning at 11.30am and Tuesday afternoon (times vary) for 30 minutes of episodes for preschool children and their parents and carers.
