When eccentric scientist Seth Brundle (Jeff Goldblum) makes a huge scientific breakthrough in teleportation, he decides to test it on himself.
However, unbeknownst to him, a common housefly manages to get inside the device, too – and the initial success of Brundle's experiment gives way to horror when man and fly gradually start to become one.
