To mark the end of the 500th Anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci's death, the Polymath Festival brings you a special UK screening of the multi-award-winning BEING LEONARDO DA VINCI: AN IMPOSSIBLE INTERVIEW by acclaimed Italian filmmaker, actor and cultural figure Massimiliano Finazzer Flory. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director.
Two modern-day journalists – one in New York and the other in Milan – are separately given assignments to investigate the last days of the Italian Renaissance. As their paths meet, they are led to a mysterious “Leonardo”. The interview that ensues explores Leonardo’s thinking on an astonishing range of subjects; namely on the relationships between painting, science, sculpture and music. Highlights include Leonardo’s reflections on The Last Supper, his relationship with religion, descriptions of Renaissance Milan, the idea behind the Vitruvian Man, the dynamics of water, the nature of the soul, prophecies on human flight and, finally, timeless wisdom for our consideration in the 21st century.
