The newly-promoted, idealistic Dr. Jenny Davin (Adèle Haenel) resides over a community practice.

When one night a young woman rings the bell of her office after-hours, Jenny chooses to ignore her call – and the next day, local authorities find her dead by a river bank just metres from the office door.

Distraught and guilt-ridden, Jenny embarks on an obsessive quest to track down the identity of the girl she failed to help.
