The first major title to hit the Dukes at Komedia screens after we opened to the public is Quentin Tarantino’s alternative take on the Western in the second of our birthday celebrations.
Jamie Foxx and Christoph Waltz star as Django and Dr. King Schultz respectively, who align in a partnership to take vengeance on the deep south’s worst and most wanted criminals. But their travails become personal when Django aims to free his lost wife from the cruel clutches of Leonardo Di Caprio’s Calvin Candie. With all the hallmark’s of the spaghetti western genre and the auteur’s best works, the film is a highlight of Tarantino’s recent movies.
