The Oldest Comedy Club in Britain + Q&A

A documentary about the iconic comedy venue Downstairs at The Kings Head, the oldest comedy club in Britain. It has held comedy nights in the same venue since 1981, has helped launch many careers, and is seen by countless comedians as one of their favourite venues. The film includes interviews with some of the nation’s most famous comics including Seann Walsh, Phil Nichol, Nick Helm, Roisin Conaty and Stewart Lee. It also features the man behind the club, notorious on the comedy circuit, owner and booker Peter Grahame, who has taken notes on every new comedian since the club’s inception. It is directed and filmed by multi-award winning comedian and filmmaker Joe Bor (‘Ian Cognito: A Life And A Death On Stage’ and ‘Clown’) who, like many others, had his first gig at the iconic venue in North London.
