The Happy Man Tree documentary (75mins) charts the highs and lows of the campaign to save one 150 year old London Plane tree in Hackney from developers.
#Noticethistree Intervention #2
At 6.00pm Intervention#2 - The second in a UK wide series of interventions brought by the people who campaigned to save the much loved tree - will begin with a space in the Town Hall square (opposite the cinema) for people to come together and tell their own stories of trees and efforts to save them followed by a screening of 'The Happy Man Tree’ documentary at 6.45pm. After the film there is an invitation to reflect and ask questions of each other about the impact of protest, and loss, upon ourselves and the world. The director and people from the campaign will be part of the reflection.
Green Screen is a community-led space to discuss environmental issues raised in the films we show. Everyone is welcome to continue the conversation after the film in your cinema's meeting space – enjoy a free tea or filter coffee when you bring a keep cup!
