The New Black Film Collective presents an exclusive preview screening of ORIGIN in partnership with London's Screen Archives, co-hosted by Reclaim The Frame and followed by a panel with Black Girls Book Club.
From Academy Award® nominated filmmaker Ava DuVernay, ORIGIN explores the mystery of history, the wonders of romance, and a fight for our future. While investigating the global phenomenon of caste and its dark influence on society, a journalist (Aunjanue L. Ellis-Taylor) faces unfathomable personal loss and uncovers the beauty of human resilience.
This event is part of Undocumented, TNBFC and London’s Screen Archives’ project to address the lack of Black stories in London’s moving image archive collections. Undocumented is delivered with the support of the BFI, awarding funds from the National Lottery. Find out more at londonsscreenarchives.org.uk
