In the thick of Tokyo's '60s counterculture, Gonda operates Bar Genet, a gay bar in Shinjuku, while dealing drugs on the side.
The bar's long-standing madam Leda – an older, old-fashioned 'geisha' and Gonda's long-time partner – runs a tight ship, but new arrival Eddie, full of confidence and glamour, threatens to disrupt the bar's hierarchy.
The three become entangled in a love triangle that plays out in the thick of an evolving, politically dynamic and free-wheeling queer culture unlike any captured on screen.
