The longest surviving cinema in the UK and an icon of Brighton’s heritage, enjoy a guided morning tour of the historic Duke of York’s Picturehouse.

While being shown around the cinema, including the usually behind-the-scenes projection booth, you’ll learn about the history of the cinema dating back to 1910 and hear remarkable stories from over 114 years that truly make it one of Brighton’s most beloved landmarks. (Ghost stories optional.)

Please note:

– The tour will start outside the cinema at the advertised time.

– If you arrive early, please take a seat at the tables and chairs outside the cinema.

– Due to the nature of the building, some areas of the tour (such as the projection booth) are only accessible by staircase, with steps which are slightly steeper than usual.

– Spaces on each tour will be limited to 15 people – pre-booking is essential.

– School bookings are also available.
