Part of THIS IS SEARCHLIGHT, our season celebrating 30 years of Searchlight Pictures.

Lonely teenager India Stoker (Mia Wasikowska) was not prepared to lose her father and best friend in a tragic accident. Her home life is upended even further by the sudden arrival of her uncle Charlie (Matthew Goode), who she never even knew existed.

When Charlie moves in with her and her emotionally unstable mother Evie (Nicole Kidman), India comes to suspect that this mysterious, charming man has ulterior motives. Yet instead of feeling outrage or horror, his compelling nature leads her to become increasingly infatuated with him.

Riffing on Hitchcock's Shadow of a Doubt and adding his own brand of dark atmosphere, Park Chan-wook's English-language debut retains all the intricate plotting and chilling twists of his South Korean stories, not to mention sharply-honed performances and a wicked wit.
