The Landrys are an ordinary family. Like all ordinary families, they love each other, keep secrets, fight and misunderstand each other.
The drama begins when Will (Rob Huebel), the lead on a popular TV show, flies home to Chicago to surprise his younger brother Graham (Josh Radnor, a familiar face from his own starring role in How I Met Your Mother). Both brothers have things going on in their own lives: Will’s child has recently come out as trans, while Graham is navigating the reappearance of an old flame. To add to this, their mother (Becky Ann Baker) is attempting to come to terms with workplace sexual harassment and the suspicion their father might be gambling again.
This finely observed comedy-drama allows its characters the space to grapple with their own personal and professional dilemmas, while illuminating how family ties can complicate and hinder them. An authentic, engrossing picture of a modern family.
