"In deep sadness, there is no place for sentimentality. It is as the mountains: a fact. There it is. When you realize it, you cannot complain."
Queer is a heartbreaking tale of profound universal human loneliness, and the kind of psychological pains that faced a homosexual in the 50s, a time of massive intolerance and condemnation. Join us after the film for a panel to discuss the psychological impact on the queer community in the 50s, and how some, like William Lee, escaped into a life of drug and alcohol abuse to push back the loneliness.
The panel will consist of psychologists, a psychotherapist, and an actor. They will each comment on the film and then it will be open for audience discussion.
