Adrift after leaving college and back living with his parents, Benjamin Braddock (Dustin Hoffman) finds a surprising distraction when he's seduced by a much older friend of the family, bored housewife Mrs. Robinson (Anne Bancroft). 

But what begins as a fun tryst turns complicated when Benjamin falls for the one woman Mrs. Robinson demanded he stay away from: her daughter, Elaine (Katharine Ross).
