This month, the Duke’s After Dark team cast their votes for the movie with which to pay tribute to David Lynch at a cinema that always has, and always will, loved him dearly.
A severed ear in the grass crawling with bugs leads college student Jeffrey (a doe-eyed Kyle Maclachlan in his second collaboration with Lynch) into the depths of the dark side of suburbia in Lynch’s sensual and surreal 1986 neo-noir mystery.
Considered one of David Lynch’s (many) masterpieces and one of the greatest films of all time, Blue Velvet immortalised the director’s legacy as one of the all-time greats of cult cinema. We can still see Blue Velvet through our tears.
Join us in the bar at 10pm for a pre-movie mixer with themed music, zines, and one of our signature cocktails, the After Dark and Stormy.
Duke’s After Dark screenings have ten minutes of ads/trailers.
