Lynchspirations: Rear Window
PG 112 mins
MyPicturehouse rating
Professional photographer L.B. 'Jeff' Jefferies (James Stewart) breaks his leg while getting an action shot at an auto race.
Wheelchair-bound and confined to his New York apartment, he spends his time looking out of the rear window, observing the neighbours through his camera's lens – however, his voyeurism becomes deadly serious detective work when he witnesses a murder across the street.
Part of David Lynch's Dream Theatre, a year-long tribute to an artist from another place. Our monthly screening of a Lynch masterpiece will also be paired with one film cited as an inspiration.
Curious to hear more about this Lynchspiration’s relationship to David’s own work? We will elaborate on that - read all about it (and the rest of the season’s pairings) here.
