Asil, a young Syrian refugee, tells her story through Little Amal, a 12ft puppet symbolising millions of displaced children. Little Amal’s journey from the Syrian border in Turkey across Europe is one of compassion and discovery. The Walk is not a typical documentary. It mixes vérité documentary with fantastical semi-scripted elements to create a fairytale for children and adults alike..
London Breeze Film Festival is delighted to once again be supporting Refugee Week and this year's theme of 'Community as a Superpower'. Join us at The Ritzy and follow the 3,000-mile journey made by Little Amal and her puppeteers representing every child's need for comfort, welcome, safety and a home.
The screening will be followed by a free 30-minute interactive puppetry demonstration from the world renowned Little Angel Puppet Theatre, who will bring along two puppets made and operated in similar ways to Little Amal - made by the creators of the War Horse puppets.
