We're thrilled to welcome Rian Johnson himself for a Q&A in between our double bill screenings of Knives Out and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. Part of A Rian Johnson Retrospective at Picturehouse Central.

Aided by brilliant ensemble casts on top form – all led by an inimitable Daniel Craig –  Rian Johnson delivers a pair of a witty modern-day whodunnit that’ll keep you guessing until the very end.

Knives Out

On acclaimed crime novelist Harlan Thrombey’s (Christopher Plummer) 85th birthday, he gathers his dysfunctional family for a party in his countryside manor – but the party turns out to be his last when he turns up with a knife in his chest.

Before long, it’s up to debonair detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) to determine which of the Thrombey clan is responsible for offing the wealthy patriarch – be it his oddball relatives or his devoted caretaker (Ana De Armas) – sifting through a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to uncover the truth.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

In the second of Rian Johnson's Knives Out mysteries, detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) returns to peel back the layers of a new whodunnit when he finds himself at a lavish private estate on a Greek island.

There, Blanc meets a distinctly disparate group of friends, gathering at the invitation of billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton) for their yearly reunion.

Each guest harbours their own secrets, lies and motivations for attending – but when someone turns up dead, everyone is a suspect.
