Scriptwriting Workshop With Abigail Webber at Cinema City Norwich

This workshop will show you how to launch your screen ideas from the original concept to a structure for a working draft. 

We'll cover:

- the basics of script formatting (and why it matters)

- generating and developing your ideas

- research

- building credible, compelling characters

- the principles of story structure

We'll also touch briefly on format, genre and theme. You'll leave with a clear sense of the shape of your story and where it's going - and with plenty of writing opportunities during the day, you'll be able to produce some working pages and get feedback on them. It's an interactive session, with lots of writing exercises and collaboration with the rest of the group.

If you're not sure what you might want to work on, don't worry; not everyone will have an idea ready to go, but by the end of the workshop you'll have plenty of material and the tools with which to develop it. 

Please bring a notebook and pens, and a laptop if you have one. There will be a lunch break. Food and drink will be available to purchase from the Cinema City Cafe Bar or you can bring a packed lunch.
