Writing Drama for Television and Streaming Platforms with Abigail Webber

This one-off class will give you an introduction and overview of writing for television – looking at how to write in series format. Ideally you’ll have some experience of screenwriting or have been to one of our previous courses, but it’s not a requirement – the only thing you need is an interest in writing for the small screen.

The session will focus on structuring for longer format stories: how to develop character and series arcs, and the shape of an episode. We’ll also consider the difference between series and serials, and consider the current landscape of drama commissioning and the rise of streaming platforms.

As always there will be writing exercises and opportunities to workshop your own ideas and work in progress – and a chance to meet up with fellow writers and talk about all things screenwriting!
