Goodbye, Dragon Inn is Tsai Ming-Liang’s quiet and mysterious ode to cinemas.
On one rainy night, the employees and lonely punters of a haunted cinema individually gather to watch a screening of the wuxia classic Dragon Inn before the cinema shuts its doors permanently. As a contemplative comedy it is slow cinema gem. Delicate gazes and peaceful long takes explore the mundanity and the absurdity of yearning in dilapidated environments.
