In 1961, Stanley Johnson set off from Oxford University with two friends bound for China. Their plan? To retrace the famous journey of Marco Polo from Venice to Beijing - but limited time meant they only got as far as the Chinese border.
Now, 60 years later, Stanley finishes the final leg of his remarkable journey through China, now joined by his son Max. From the jaw-dropping high peaks of the Karakorum Mountains, through two great deserts, to the highlands of Inner Mongolia and finally Beijing – join Stanley and Max as they travel In the Footsteps of Marco Polo. A glass of Prosecco or Orange Juice will be served on arrival.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A featuring Stanley Johnson and the film producers Bath-based One Tribe TV
