After being kicked out of his rock group, washed-up musician Dewey Finn (Jack Black) is in desperate need of a new gig. He winds up stealing one from his roommate: working as a substitute teacher at a strict private elementary school. The problem is, the only thing Dewey can teach is how to rock – so he decides to form a band with his sceptical students.
