Over 75 years ago the MV Balmoral was built and launched in the historic and iconic Southampton docks. Now, in 2025, the ship will return in a slightly different form...

Join us for the maiden voyage of Balmoral, the latest film by director Harry Knight and producer Maria Webb of Falling Films.

As historic ships vanish from British waters, a group of passionate volunteers fights to save the Balmoral—a 1949 passenger vessel moored in Bristol’s iconic harbour—battling time, bureaucracy, and financial struggles to preserve a piece of maritime history before it’s lost forever.

After the 40-minute viewing we will be joined by special guests to discuss the film and its themes. Why is this story important and what future does our heritage have?

Panel members include:
Harry Knight - Director and filmmaker
Maggie Urquhart - Balmoral Volunteer
David Bassett - Balmoral Volunteer
Hannah Cunliffe - Director of National Historic Ships UK
Graham Mackenzie - Chieff Engineer of SS Shieldhall

Come with an open mind and any burning questions.
