Screening as part of Cinema Unbound: The Creative Worlds of Powell + Pressburger, a UK-wide film season supported by National Lottery and BFI Film Audience Network.

After opening a convent in the Himalayas, five nuns encounter conflict and tension -both with the natives and also within their own group -as they attempt to adapt to their remote, exotic surroundings.

This screening will features a prerecorded introduction by Lillian Crawford. Lillian Crawford is a film and culture critic for publications including Little White Lies, Sight & Sound, The Guardian, and BBC Culture.
