The film delves into the complex relationship between Elvis (Austin Butler, in a star-making performance) and his enigmatic manager Colonel Tom Parker (Tom Hanks) over the course of 20 years, charting Presley's meteoric rise to fame, the loves and losses he endures along the way, and the American music culture he helped transform.
