Special screenings of award-winning documentary MEDIHA plus a recorded Q&A with Executive Producer Emma Thompson will be shown at select Picturehouse Cinemas to honour Human Rights Day on Wednesday 11th December. Together Films are offering free tickets to staff at local organisations who support refugees in their communities.

A powerful testament to the human spirit, MEDIHA follows the remarkable journey of one girl's fight to find her missing family members, revealing the strength of a young survivor. The recorded Q&A with Executive Producer Emma Thompson and Director Hasan Oswald, moderated by multi-Emmy Award-winning journalist Hind Hasan, was recorded at BAFTA 195 Piccadilly on 2 November 2024.

Mediha, a teenage Yazidi girl, turns her camera on herself to process her trauma after surviving captivity from ISIS. Through her personal video-diaries, she confronts her pain, while also initiating investigations into her captors. Mediha's journey is one of courage and determination as she steps towards a future of justice and healing.

The screenings on 11th December, follow Human Rights Day on 10th December and the International Day of Commemoration and Dignity of the Victims of the Crime of Genocide and of the Prevention of this Crime on 9th December. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Yazidi genocide of 2014. The Yazidi community remains in desperate need of international support, as ten years after the Sinjar massacre, thousands of Yazidi women and children are still missing, with survivors facing ongoing trauma.

The film's impact partners include Women For Women International, MAG International, AMI, and The Lotus Flower.
